The Fab Fifty

This list represents those varieties that have won fifty (50) blue or higher awards in the year indicated.

The Derrill W. Hart medal

Awarded to the cultivar that has the highest average trial garden score in the 7 accredited Trial Gardens located in several areas across the United States and Canada during the previous year as an AA or A (Classes 001-195); B (Classes 201-295); BB (Classes 301-395); M (Classes 401-495); Ball, MiniatureBall, or Pompon (Classes 501- 555); and Other Types (601- 775). The highest 3 scores shall be used to determine such highest average. In case of ties, duplicate awards will be awarded.

The Lynn B. Dudley medal

Awarded to the cultivar that has the highest average bench score as anAA or A (Classes 001-195); B (Classes 201-295); BB (Classes 301-395); M(Classes 401-495); Ball, Miniature Ball, or Pompon (Classes 501- 555); and Waterlily (Classes 601-615)or Novelty type (Classes 761-775). The highest3 scores awarded at the approximately 80 member societies' shows in the United States and Canada shall be used to determine such highest average.In case of ties, duplicate awards will be awarded.

The Evie Gullickson medal

Awarded to the cultivar that has the highest average Seedling Bench Evaluation score as an Other Type (621-755). A similar medal will be awarded to the highest average ADS Trial Garden Other Type (621-755) cultivar.

The Stanley Johnson medal

Awarded to the cultivar, that has not previously won a Stanley Johnson Award, with the greatest number of higher than blue ribbon awards that were won at the approximately 80 shows held during the previous year by ADS member societies in the United States and Canada. Previous Stanley Johnson Award recipients are excluded from further competition.
