2007 ADS PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST
The experience of the past contest mirrored an inevitable
trend: Half of all the submissions to last year’s contest were digital
photos, with most of the remainder being prints. Only one contestant
submitted slides. With slide film becoming rare and the need for developing
consistency in media for use in ADS publications and collections, only photos
and digital files will be accepted this year.
CONTEST RULES
- Competition is open to anyone; ADS membership is not
required
- Photos must be the contestant’s own work
- All images must have been taken during the 2007 growing
season
- Images must be representative of the entered class;
dahlias must predominate
- Each entrant may submit no more than FOUR images in each
class
- Each entry must be indelibly marked as follows
For photos - entrant name,
class number, description
For digital images - submit
separate text file listing entries by file name in addition to your name,
class number, and description
- Size: maximum size for photos is 4 x 6

have a resolution of at least 300 dpi for best reproduction. Shorten

disqualified in the class.

several criteria of photographic excellence. If an entry does not merit an
award, it will not get one even if it is the only one submitted in its class.
The photographer grants the ADS
a non-exclusive license to use and reproduce the submitted photographic image(s)
solely for use in ADS publications. Copies of the work may also be made part
